Project-Focused Learning Initiative
Project Proposal
Thank you for your interest in the Facing History Project-Focused Learning Initiative. This program fosters teacher leadership and enhances student creativity and investment while developing a year-long project on the Holocaust and related aspects of Jewish history. Facing History will provide these selected schools with expertise, mentorship and generous financial support to conceive, develop, and implement these school projects for two consecutive years.
This project will involve several teachers across disciplines, and go beyond the classroom to impact the greater school community. Educators will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they plan and implement this two-year project in partnership with school administration and leadership.
In the spring of each year, each school will showcase their PFLI projects in a culminating event for their school community to share the learning process and experience. In addition, Facing History will host a PFLI Day of Learning each spring. This in-person, full-day event will convene educators, school leaders, and students from participating schools, enabling them to connect as a learning community and share their PFLI experiences with one another.
This application should be completed by the teacher liaison to this project as well as a member of the school administrative team, such as the Head of School or department chair.
Please reach out to your Program Associate regarding any questions about this application and to schedule a conversation regarding your application proposal.
Please submit this form by June 1, 2024.
